But First, Football

It's the most wonderful time of the year! It'ssss football season!!! There is something just so exciting about the first football game of the year. Whether it's a small town high school football game, Big 10 college game, or an NFL game, there is such an exhilarating feeling about being back in the stands cheering on your favorite team! I'm from a very small town and attended a very close-knit high school. So, my high school's Friday night football games brought my whole town together.
Attending home games in a big hoodie while sipping some hot cocoa is one of my favorite fall activities. However, I unfortunately cannot attend every away game and sometimes I prefer to just watch the game on TV from my living room if the weather becomes freezing and is no longer very enjoyable. So of course I had to come up with an easy game day creation! I naturally decided to make an uber cute football cupcake! I wanted to add a little something extra, so I also decided to put a surprise marshmallow fluff in the middle. And don't worry, this is such an easy cupcake to prepare, you'll be able to make lots for your friends and family for all those Sundays filled with football!

To keep things super simple, I just used a generic chocolate cupcake mix from any grocery or dollar store (my favorite is Betty Crocker's Super Moist Devil's food chocolate mix).
Follow the instructions on the back of the box to make the cupcakes.
After you removed the cupcakes and you let them cool off, you can begin to add the marshmallow center!
This was a simple trick my mom taught me when I was little, and I instantly became obsessed with this trick. I am tempted to do this with all of my cupcakes because it just gives them a little something extra.

Decorating Ingredients:
Marshmallow Fluff
Chocolate Icing
Decorative White Icing
Spoon
Lets get started!
First, get a spoon and begin scooping out small, spoon sized portions of the center of each cupcake.

After each of the cupcake's center is taken out, begin putting a small scoop of marshmallow fluff in the middle of each cupcake.

When each cupcake has a sweet marshmallow surprise in the center, simply place the tops of each cupcake back on and slightly press down so they stick. It's okay if the marshmallow filling begins to come out from underneath the cupcake top. Nobody will notice once you frost them :)
So after the tops are placed on all the cupcakes, you can do one of two things.
1. The simplest thing to do is frost each of the cupcakes with chocolate icing and a butter knife.
Or
2. Use a decorative tip (like I did) to create a chocolate swirly icing.
If you decide to use a decorative tip, it can be purchased in the baking isle of any grocery store. Simply get a small, zip lock baggie and cut a very small tip off one of the bottom corners. Scoop a good amount of the chocolate icing into the zip lock baggie and put the decorative tip on the corner of the baggie that you cut the corner. Begin to squeeze the icing in the bag down towards the decorative tip and make one, long, continuous "S" motion from the top of the cupcake to the bottom of the cupcake until its entirely frosted.
They will look adorable either way you frost them!
After frosting each of the cupcakes with the chocolate icing, get the small, decorating white icing tube and make a white line down the center of each cupcake. Then make smaller lines that intersect the long line, so it looks just like a football!
If you show up to the football watch party with these babies, you're sure to be the bell of the ball... Or the star of the game! How ever you prefer to say it :)

Hope you all enjoyed these delicious marshmallow football cupcakes!
Stay sweet,
